About the Role

We are a dynamic and rapidly growing company looking for our first product hire. As our Director of Product, you will report directly to the Founders and Co-CEOs, driving product innovation at one of the fastest-growing mission-driven education companies.

 

You will play a crucial role in a pivotal stage of our company, leading product success within a vibrant, fun, and empathetic team culture.

 

Responsibilities

Strategy & Roadmap:

  • Lead product discovery by gathering feedback, customer calls, and addressing pain points

  • Draft and share Product Requirements Documents

  • Work with founders and leadership to draft the product roadmap

  • Ensure company-wide understanding of the product roadmap

  • Ensure adherence to the roadmap

 

Manage Full Product Development Cycle:

  • Scope out issues with functional and UI/UX requirements for engineering

  • Communicate product requirements to engineering and ensure accurate effort estimation

  • Communicate asynchronously and meet with engineers as needed to ensure they understand the feature's purpose and full requirements before starting

  • Test product features and ensure issues are fixed prior to release

  • Monitor student and admin metrics, SMS conversations, identify issues, and collaborate with AI and Engineering teams to solve them

 

Communicate & Support Different Teams:

  • Communicate and train our internal team on any user-facing product releases prior to deployment

  • Collaborate with partner success and marketing to keep all customers updated and engaged with new product releases, leading communication strategies

  • Conduct 1:1s with team leaders to identify departmental inefficiencies and improvement areas

  • Answer all internal product questions, clarify direction and features, and join client and sales meetings as needed

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product management, preferably in a B2B Series B+ company

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Proven track record of leading product strategy, roadmap development, and managing the entire product lifecycle

  • Experience in conducting product discovery and translating insights into product features

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with internal teams and customers

  • An adaptable and dynamic approach keen to working in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving startup environment
